This is the most disgusting sight I have ever seen and it is my first time throwing up right in front of the scene. I have no idea why I wanted to be there but at least it is a once a life time experience...
I witnessed a Sky-Burial in Drigung Monastery, at just three hours off-load ride from Lhasa. It wasn't planned, but I pumped into a Beijing girl traveler asking if I want to join them as they need few more people to fill up the Land Cruiser.
I don't want to recall what I have seen but it keep reminding me, for those who know, the "Beijing Skin-peeling Duck" scene in the Chinese Restaurant, where a skilled chef peels off the duck skin professionally. And here in Drigung Monastery, what I see is a dead human body right in front of me. I threw up as soon as I saw the "chief" extracting the meat from the human face. So I left and didn't see the bone shattering part. I should have sleep-in in the dorm instead of paying to suffer!
Two other Japanese were in our group too, and they watched the whole damn thing from start to end, stood at close as arm-length, and got bloody splash on their pants too. They are insane! I stayed afar from them and took a long shower right after.
What a day! I am not going to eat any meat for next few days. And the Beijing Duck is no longer my favorite dish...

Huge eagles are flying and waiting for their meal
