After staying in the room for almost a week. The doctor finally signed the discharge note when my blood test showed everything back to normal. Hurray! I am now free! It took me almost an hour to pack everything... I cannot believe how much junk food I have accumulated since I admitted into hospital six days ago -- All from my good friends who keep smuggling snack and soda.. From Coca-Cola to Ice-cream and potato chips.. Sure they think I am so lonely that I need junk food to keep myself occupied :-)
Nothing spectacular happened during the isolation. It was like a 6 days course of eat and sleep. The room-keeper lady always joked about me. She said I am the most energetic patient since the Isolation Unit in operation, when other patients are having high-fever and suspected SARS. On the other hand, my friends keep asking about the "quality of nurses". I was trying to play close attention to them but with the full on SARS protective clothing, I can only see their eye, barely. Nonetheless they are very nice except they kept yelling me to put on the mask (even when I was eating?). I feel very little piracy with the close-circuit TV. I found it is very amusing that they came in to check my body temperature (using the little fancy device that plugs into my ear) while I am watching DVD (Thanks Winsor for the laptop) on the bed.
No I am not that enjoying the stay as I sounded but it was an interesting experience. I felt like I am forced to take a break from intense travel, which, perhaps, is a good thing. Now I feel energize again (except the bruises on arms after numerous blood taking) and ready to travel.
I am not going back to South-East Asia as the doctor warned me that subsequent infection of Dangue Fever can be fatal. In fact I don't miss the countries too much. Sure it is regretful not to visit Cambodia and Vietnam. But with the birdflu hazard and now the Dangue Fever, I feel less obsessed about the places.
I am going to my real home town, Shan Wei, in next few days to visit my grand father. He must have been wondering where I have been to during last three months, when I promised him I will come for a visit "any time in next few months". It is a easy few hours of bus ride from Hong Kong. I guess I will stay there for at least few nights, if not a week. He won't have an idea what I have been gone through...
Nice weather. Nothing better than going out for a short hike to get some fresh air:

Small adventure in the military tunnels left over from WWII

Pretty scary indeed!

The beautiful side of Hong Kong. It is so quiet to go outdoor in the weekday, overlooking the hustle and bustle down the hill

Extremely good visibility
