Camping in Ham Tin

It is a joy to go wild camping in Hong Kong during weekdays where absolutely no people in the country-side. Eska decided to take 2 days off just to go backpacking with us in Ham Tin, Shai Kung. Ham Tin is located in the very east end of Hong Kong and is famous for the sandy beach and clear water. With less than 3 hours of hike you get to see the quiet side of Hong Kong with no concrete building in your eye-sight. I have been there a lot of time during my teenage. It is very nice to come back and see very little has bee changed, except the trail is a lot nicer and more accessible for elderly people.







We just spent a night there, riding wave in the morning and cooking in the afternoon. The weather is mild and cool by Hong Kong standard in October. However with my only -10 down bag from Vancouver, I found it was extremely hot at night in the sleeping bag... It would be too cold without it but it is definitely way too warm sleeping in it. Eska was joking whole night that she felt the heat wave sleeping right beside me... Meanwhile Pazu was enjoying his brand sparkling new Lafuma mini down bag and he kept saying how great it was for the whole night....
